Collection: Live Food

Keep your invertebrates and exotic pets hunting at their best with our range of live feeder insects — carefully selected for nutritional value, ease of use, and suitability across all life stages.

What's in this collection?

  • Green Bottle Flies (Lucilia sericata) — high-energy, ready-to-hunt adults with a metallic sheen. Available as flies only or a hybrid fly & caster mix. Ideal for jumping spiders, mantises, and arboreal reptiles. Includes our cool-down feeding hack for easier handling.
  • Blue Bottle Live Flies (Calliphora vomitoria) — ready-hatched in a ventilated tub with wood wool and a jelly pot. A larger, more stimulating prey item perfect for adult jumping spiders, large mantids, and arboreal tarantulas.
  • Fly Casters — premium pupae for both Green Bottle and Blue Bottle flies. Refrigerate to extend shelf life and hatch on demand in just 3–9 days. A flexible, low-waste feeding option.
  • D. hydei Large Fruit Flies (Drosophila hydei, 3–4mm, flightless) — self-sustaining live culture pots ideal for i3–i5 jumping spider slings and small mantis nymphs. Fly food included; shelf life of several weeks.
  • D. melanogaster Dwarf Fruit Flies (Drosophila melanogaster, 1–2mm, flightless) — the essential first prey for i1–i3 spiderlings and tiny mantis nymphs. Self-sustaining culture with fly food included.
  • Tropical White Springtails (Collembola) — 1–2mm bioactive clean-up crew that consume mould, fungi, and decaying matter. Breed rapidly in warm, humid conditions (22–28°C). Ideal for bioactive vivariums, isopod enclosures, and dart frog tanks.

Choosing the right feeder

Not sure where to start? As a general guide: D. melanogaster suits the smallest slings (i1–i3), D. hydei steps up for i3–i5 juveniles, and bottle flies are ideal for sub-adult to adult invertebrates. Springtails work alongside any setup as a vivarium maintenance crew.
