Collection: Velvet Spiders

Meet one of the most underrated families in the hobby. Velvet spiders are hardy, long-lived, and covered in dense, velvety setae that make them unlike anything else in your collection. Both species we stock are captive bred, established juveniles or spiderlings, and dispatched via Royal Mail Special Delivery (guaranteed by 1pm) — posted Monday to Thursday only to ensure safe live arrival.

Species available

  • Gandanameno sp. — African Velvet Spider | 5–8mm established juvenile | Captive bred
Affectionately known as the “Eight-Legged Bulldog” or “Teddy Bear” spider. Exceptionally fuzzy, slow-moving, and remarkably hardy — a brilliant first velvet spider. • Eresus walckenaeri — Orange Ring Velvet Spider | ~5mm spiderling | Captive bred | Unsexed
Females develop a stunning orange-to-red ring on their abdomen as adults. Subterranean engineers that construct silk-lined burrows with a trip-wire canopy — fascinating to observe.
